The Help and Support index has disappeared - I just have a red x in the upper
left-hand corner. I have SP3 installed on my computer, and it's been there
for a long time. Any help in getting my index back would be most appreciated.
 
try
1.
- right clicking on the start menu,
- click properties, customize properties button,
- when the "Customize Start Menu: windows opens, select Advance tab
- scroll down to "Help and support "(between favoirtes and "may
Computer")
- ensure the "Help and support" is checked,
- click OK button,
- OK
2, failing the above you can create your own shortcut: with
C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\helpctr.exe

Run a thorough scan by doing the following steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete
cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing
Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all
non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Run disk clean up on your Drive.

Click Start, Run. Type:

regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx

Press ENTER.

Does that help?
 
That worked!!. I disabled some of the add-ons that I didn't recognize (there
were 3 in there) and I ran the regsvr. Thanks so much for your help.
 
Glad to Help even the Troll/Impersonater didn't mean to help you but cause
you grief and Defame my name and you can see the difference in my ID I'm
Silver Contributer and He is Silver Troll.

First Time a Troll meant bad but made a great favour for me lol.
Best if you run through the rest of scans.

how do i post a question sir pls. email me at, (e-mail address removed), an let
me know or you can post it for me my computer hangs up on me alot an is very
slow does anyone in the group know what i can do to fix it ?
