ok I got the intervideo WinDVD creator. I imported from Windows Movie maker
after i saved the movie in Avi format and the music sounded terrible when i
played it back on the computer so i went back and saved it in the wma format.
I imorted again into the WinDVD creator and selected to burn. I formated to
svcd System NTSC and it still will only play on the compute. The files on the
CD are MPEGAv and an SVCD. WHy oh Why can i not get this to play on my tv.

Some DVD players are not compatible
with VCDs...did you check the owner's
manual of your DVD player?

Try making a VCD instead of a SVCD.

Did you create a VCD instead of
SVCD?

Here are some basic steps that
work for me...(bear in mind...I am
not an expert on video)

Insert a blank CD-R in your CD Burner.
(if a dialog opens asking what you want
to do...close it)

Open WinDVD Creator.

Click...Create New Project button.

Import button...browse to the video/s you
wish to use. Open them in the program.

Drag the clips to the cells at the bottom
of the screen in the order you want them
to play.

Now you can add your music. Audio
Library button / Import / select the file
and open it. Drag the file to the clip
you want it associated with.

Make Movie button...

Format: VCD...

TV System: NTSC...

Click the arrow to advance to the next screen...

Burn to disk button...

Click the right arrow to advance to the next screen...

Select your CD Burner...

Burning Speed: Optimal...

Start button...

Wait while the program burns your VCD...

When the disk ejects...try it in your DVD player...

I created a basic VCD while I was writing these
steps for you...it plays in my Toshiba DVD player.

There are more options you can experiment with
but hopefully this will get you started.

Good luck.

Thank-you for all of your help. I went out and bought a 35.00 dvd player that
plays everything and low and behold it was the equipment i was using. Sorry
to have put you thru all of that. Now i have a new dilema. I downloaded the
Photostory 3 on my other computer with the sonic plug in because i was having
so many issues with this one and low and behold it gave me the option to save
to DVD with sonic technology, but when i do that the sonic page appears but
does not let me have any of the options on the page. it is just there. now
what have i done

As I mentioned in my first reply, some DVD
players are not compatible. I'm glad you
found a solution for your delimma.

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to the
new problem.

I am just guessing here but since the "Save to DVD" option works through
Sonic's MyDVD I would guess that the reason you can't use any of the options
because MyDVD is not installed on your computer.
