I recently purchase a dvd of a music group, and I am
worried about the wear on the disc and drive cause I play
it so much :P so I would like to back it up to my hard-
drive, just drag and drop doesnt do it, the play back
quality is Bad... looking for advice from someone who's
done it, on how to or a software (trial or freeware plz)I
have xp home, and 18gb free,...
badkarmajdw at aol :P

Store-bought DVD's are encoded and can not just be copied to your hard-drive. I use DVD Shrink (free, which is always good), that performs two functions.

1. Decodes the DVD
2. Shrinks it. This necessary as your store-bought DVD is probably 17 Gig while a DVD-R or RW is only 4.7 Gig, so it has be shrunk to fit onto 1 DVD

Go to Google, type in DVD Shrink and you're all set.
