Hi!

A friend of mine asked me how to get up the "From:" field
when you are going to write a new mail. I told her how and
also recommended that she do a microsoft update.
When she done the microsoft update her address book seems
to have been messed up because now she can't use
the "Create mail" button without getting up an error. And
when she opens the address book directly it complains that
something is wrong and that it will try to fix the error,
but it can't. How do I fix this

The problem is that she had a couple of hundred e-mail
addresses in her address book and she would like to get
them back. Are they gone, or can they be imported?

Thanks for the help in advance!

/Oscar

I suspect you meant to post the Outlook version, the update applied, and the
exact content of the error message so someone could help you. You may want
to now.
Outlook has no "Create Mail" button. Are you even talking about Outlook?

She is using outlook express, and what version she had prior to now I don't know (She probably hasn't made a update in 2-3 years). Now on the other hand, she should have the latest outlook express version. And in Outlook Express there is a "Create mail" in the toolbar when you have selected your inbox. I can't give the exact error message since I havn't seen the computer, and she didn't write it down (I gonna look at the computer on monday)
Does a microsoft update erase the old address books when you update to newer versions

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a completely different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/
