Somehow my default security policy on my Main win2k server
got corrupted. So after reading through Technet I did the
following to reset the security policy per Technet:

Secedit /configure /cfg c:\winnt\repair\secsetup.inf /db
secsetup.sdb

Secedit /configure /cfg c:\winnt\repair\secdc.inf /db
secdc.sdb

It ran fine and said it completed successfully, however as
soon as it ran, my users could no longer get to e-mail.
Furthur investigation revealed that the information store
weren't running. Attempt to start the information store
were unsuccessful with a 1053 error information store
could not start.

Anyone have any thoughts on this????

Thanks Jack

Hi Jack. I am not sure if this will help, but you might want to try changing the
security option for "additional restrictions for anonymous connections" to - none,
rely on default permissions. That setting can cause problems in various setups. It
does reduce security, so change it back if later you can verify that is not the
problem. Also see KB article on change to user rights assignments that may have been
reversed if you are using Exchange 2000. Check Event Viewer on servers for any clues.
I would also recommend posting in one of the Exchange specific newsgroups. Possibly
there are some changes you need to do user right assignments for Exchange to work
again. -- Steve
