this may seem like a dumb thing - but I CAN NOT get my reports to expand to
4-6 pages long. I did try the Group and sort thing, but either Im doing it
wrong or just dont get it it! Help!!

Jonell,

Okay, but why do you think they should be 4 to 6 pages long? Are you trying
to have each group on a seperate page? Then put a page break in the group
footer. If that's not it, more details please...

Why are you trying to make your report 4-6 pages long?

I am trying to build a Data Abstraction Tool for my medical record company.
Right now it is in Word, but I would like to have it at the click of a
button.

I'm with Gina & Keven ... what is the significance of "4-6 pages"?

Its a printable document (with some info from database) that needs to be
filled out as people are reading thru medical records.

Jonell,

It seems we are only getting bits and pieces of what you are trying to do
and we are suppose to tell you how to accomplish your task. So here are a
few questions that should help us help you...

1. Is this an Access report? (If No, go to question 3.)
2. As we are all curious about the 4 to 6 pages, please elaborate...
3. If this is a Word document then you need to post your question in the
Word forum and skip the balance of the questions...
4. What version of Access and Word?
5. Are you moving your report into Access or doing a Mail Merge? If you
are just copying the information from Access to Word then you would need to
go to Word forum.

Remember, we can't see what you are doing OR how you are doing it. The more
detail the better chance of a solution.

Sorry for being so vague. I do have a mail merge document in Word right now
that does what I am trying to do in Access, but I'm trying to simplify the
process.

I built a report into my access 2007 database that pulls certain info and
has alot of fields that need to be manually filled in by abstractors for each
medical record received. The report has to be printed and filed with each
record awaiting to be abstracted. I say 4-6 pages because of the amount of
information that needs to manually filled out.
We request medical records from hospitals and as I receive them into my
database, I would like the "report" to print so I dont have to manually enter
the Medical record ID # again into Word.
Make more sense?
Thanks!

The thing we are all having trouble with is how you want the report to
be 4-6 pages...

Do you want it to put a bunch of blank space in somewhere? Do you want
there to only be certain data on certain pages? Thanks for trying to
be a little less vague, but you still haven't given us the information
we need in order to tell you how to solve your problem. Remember, we
can't see the document you are creating in Word, we can't see what you
are expecting and we can't see what your report in Access currently
looks like.

Jonell,

MUCH better!!!

The only thing I can't determine is if you created the report in Access OR
do you want to do a Merge with the Word Document - Access data. If it is
choice number two have a look at...

I could be wrong, but the feeling I get is that he is trying to not
use Word for this, but to do it all in an Access report.

The report has critical questions that need to be answered for each record.
alot of yes/no and fillin data blanks. I actually already have everything I
need in the access report(I made the report wider in order to fit it), but
how do I get all of the data? (I knew when I made the report wider that I
would get the "does not fit" error, I just wanted to get it together and then
figure out how to add pages)

She - And Yes I want it all in access......
