I have xp-pro and need to format my C drive,,,I have a partition and
want to keep my d drive....PLEASE GIVE ME THE INSRTUCTIONS
on how to format my E drive,,,,

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

.
Not really sure which drive XP is on. So lets assume XP
is not on your C drive but lives on your e drive.
you would go to
Start>Control panel>Computer management>Disk Management>
then highlight the volume "aka drive letter",right click
and choose format.
you will not be able to choose format if your c drive is
the primary partion..

Assuming that you want to reinstall Windows XP, just boot from
the XP CD and follow the prompts for a clean installation. It
will reformat for you as part of the process.
