That's pretty crummy. I hope you're able to get your
data back.

I also hope that this incident persuades you that regular
data backups are a neccessary part of a disaster recovery
plan for everyone. (not just companies) Ok, I'm done. :-)

Have u tried msconfig, pc restore

System Restore is not intended to and will not restore personal files.
However it can't hurt.

Well, it's easy.
Hard drives always last forever and important data is invulnerable so
there is no need to take precautions regardless the value or
importance of the data.
It is only when this is proved wrong and all data is gone that the
truth of the necessity of back-ups is learned.

Ah, now I understand. `:-/

Why does this sound like it came from a fortune cookie?

Or maybe the shorter version:

"It is only when...all data is gone that the truth of the necessity of
backups is learned"

Hmmmm. I may have to steal that for a sig line!

Oh, LOL!

I just placed it in my "Nugget of Wisdom for the Day"
siggie!

A nugget of wisdom it is INDEED!
