Fine. Now if you wish to remain popular in these newsgroups
then it might be a good idea to make yourself familiar with
current newsgroup etiquette:
- Your Subject line shoule be a one-line summary of your
topic, e.g. "General info on Windows 2000". "Hi all" is
about as meaningless as it gets.
- Never ever multi-post. It wastes everyone's time. Use
cross-posting in moderation if you wish to reach more than
one newsgroup.

Happy posting!

"Hi all" is
about as meaningless as it gets.

Not to me. new posters often use it to introduce themselves. It has the
added advantage of being short, heh, heh.

And give the lad a break; he's a sincerely trying to provide a (free)
service. Don't bash him for it just because he doesn't conform to the
Pegasus Rules of Posting.

Your pet peeves are *yours*; they aren't necessarily helpful to others.

Writing meaningful Subject lines and avoiding multi-posting are
not the "Pegasus" ruls of posting. They are commonsense, they
avoid wasting time and they are generally adopted:

The OP would do well by familiarising himself with these
guidelines at the start of his career as a newsgrop respondent.
