I just got a new laptop which has the windows vista, I set up the email with
Gmail, I have been reading all the posts and trying to figure it out but it
just doesn't seem to be working, I got it to send out mail but cannot receive
them...this is the error message I am receiving:

Account: 'Mail Account', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR not supported q34pf4821920wrq', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

any suggestions...please?!?!...I'm desperate

Sounds like your Gmail account is sending some login information
to the server that the server doesn't know how to handle.
Do you have "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" checked?
If so, uncheck it.

Did you activate your POP access on Gmail's settings page? AFAIK, you need
to activate it by logging into the web-based settings page on Gmail.com and
then activate POP over there.

thank you so much, it works now, your a life saver!!! who woulda known it was
something so simple!!
