First time problem here and need a genius to help me
please. How do I save all my emails in outlook to cd to
transfer to my new computer. This one will go belly up
before the new one arrives and I can'y affordto lose all
the mail.
Thanks much,
tony

copy *.pst, maybe a hidden file, to cd.
From cd copy to hd, ensure read only flag is off, then in OL open pst

I've had the same concern as Tony. I found the pst file in Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Outlook and saved it to CD. But when I then look at the directory of the CD, this backed up file is only 64kb and shows it was last modified 12/4/2003. How do I open the .pst on the CD from Outlook to be sure it actually contains this month's emails

You cannot open a pst, unless the pst file has full read/write access. ie it
has to be copied to hd and the read only flag turned off, before opening in
OL.
Do not import, in OL, open pst, depends on version of OL, the procedure to
open
Simply copy pst to yr cd to backup
