I just came across a couple forums that indicated there are many users out
there with boards that have a bad soder problem. Has this been corrected
yet? I will be recieving my board tomorrow

Yes, these are the threads I was referring to, I saw one as late as 12-30 so
I'm not encouraged that I'm going to get a version 2 board.
I believe I'll use the exacto knife method to remove the excess solder.

Hi Ed,

I just dismantled my failing P4C800-E (purchased Dec 1st) and it had a
Revision 2 sticker on it.

My 'new' P4C800-E (purchased 1 week ago) has no revision 2 sticker, but
it's clearly a 'newer' version. The version of the MB software is
higher, and the heatsink has been redesigned. Before the heatsink mount
was flush with the bottom of the motherboard and could be clearly seen
pressing down on some solder points. (I could see bits of the solder
visible at the endge of the mount). The new heatsink mount has
standoff's, that hold it away from any solder points.

thanks in advance

Hi,
the MB software is version M370.

But just check the heatsink mount. If it's flush against the
motherboard it's an 'old(er') version

10-4, thanks Bill, I'll be building this today, I'll post here with any
problems I run into or (hopefully) just to let you know how it works. :)
