Hi Group,

Finally getting round to putting together a machine with the
above-mentioned board.

I'd be grateful for suggestions of a good and reasonably quiet
fan/heatsink to put on the Athlon Tbred B 2400+ I've just bought.

Preferably something with a three-lug clip rather than just a single
lug, 'cos I'm afraid of mashing the CPU or motherboard. (My only building
experience is with Socket Seven boards, and my reading of the Socket A
literature suggests this can be tricky or risky).

If the CPU fan matches my beautiful Chinese all-aluminium case so much
the better...

I'll be putting in a quality PSU which sucks air from around the
CPU, and there will also be a case fan extracting from the back in the same
CPU
region area.

I've no overclocking plans just yet.

Thanks in advance.

Arctic Cooler Copper Silent TC2 (Skt A) from CCL... about 8 quid inc
VAT and beautifully silent. It has a built-in sensor and the fan
adjusts itself to suit the temperature of the cpu. I've now used half a
dozen of thyem and wouldn't use anything else unless I'm building an
expensive PC which warrants a £20+ cooler.

Thanks a lot, Paul. That does help!
