heatpipe V heatsink?

title slightly misleading, i think. but, whats the difference? do the heatpipes keep the CPU cooler? and...how do they work? if anyone knows a good review on a heatpipe for the CPU please post the link!

if i had a P4 system i would consider it. but, i have a unhealthy interest of making a PC as cool as i can without overclocking. hence my generic RAM with heatspreaders....for no reason!

the heatpipes do look certainly sexy though.

you can get those for AMD systems - it's called an SP-97

You can also get an Uber big version made of aluminium called the XP 120 for £41 :/. I mean this thing is huge!

I use one of these, Coolermaster Hyper6 KHC-V81 Cooler, its got 6 heat pipes and lots of fins and you can stick two fans on it if you want, just make sure you have the room for it. its rather huge.
