You can link many of the text elements in a chart (chart title, axis
titles, data labels on data points) to a cell. Select the item, click
in the formula bar (above the column header letters, next to the equals
sign), type = and click on the cell. Excel enters the address of the
cell after the equals sign you types. Now press Enter.
If you forget to use the = sign then the text a1 will be used.
Also include the sheet reference too. So for a link to cell A1 on Sheet1
use;
=Sheet1!A1
If the sheet name contains space(s) then enclose the sheetname in single
quotes.
I must be doing something wrong. I'm using Excel 2000. I
would like to use the contents of a cell as the chart
title. The closest I can come is to have the cell address
(a1) show up as the title. Can you tell what I'm doing
wrong?
