Is it possible to put a header or footer on a printout of a query. Sometimes
I just need a list of data for reference and it would be handy to be able to
put some way of knowing what the data refers to.I know the name of the query
and the date appears on the top but mostly I just run the query and don't
save it with a name so it just says 'query 1' or whatever query it is.

Thanks for any ideas here.

Hi Corinne,

You would need to use a Report based on the Query.

That's a shame. I use a macro to automatically insert filename and
path into a footer for each worksheet in an Excel spreadsheet or word
documents athat are used for 'working in progress'. Queries can often
be used in the same way. Is it possible through a macro (or add-in) to
add to the title of the query that prints at the head of each page?
Or to use a macro to set up a report based excatly on any query,
print, and then delete the report? (although I suspect even if
possible this would be very slow).
Otherwise perhaps header / footers for printing queries could be an
enhancement in the next version of Access?
Thanks
Rich
