Header-Macro-Word 2003

I have created (by recording) macros to insert Headers into new documents.
There are nine altogether. Each Header has a different logo (Inserted as a
jpg), appropriate text is typed, etc. My problem is drawing a line, that
starts at a given point on the ruler (assume 2.25 inches) and is terminated
at a point somewhere to the right (assume 5.5 inches). I obviously can not
use the mouse to draw the line, and am at a loss to figure out how to
accomplish this.
Guidance will be greatly appreciated.

If the line is to go from margin to margin, use an underline in the
paragraph formatting. If you need it to be narrower or wider, then add or
subtract paragraph indent to either side.

You could also use a Tab Leader.
 
May I respectfully suggest that this is a crazy way to create new documents?
Instead of using a macro, you should create a template for each specific
type of document, each template containing the appropriate header. Lines
below headers are usually created using paragraph borders rather than
drawing lines.

Thank you for reinforcing what I had told our Executive VP. I said basically
the same thing, only didnt use the word crazy, and showed her your response,
to no avail. My instructions are - "Make it happen".
Is there a way to get a line partially across the Header, not a bottom
border, and the center (vertically) while in the Macro recorder.
 
As much as I agree with your assessment of doing this, I thank you for saving
me a lot of aggravation with the big guy.
