I just installed HDDTemperature Pro. The results were a surprise.

Hitachi 7200RPM 250GB - 36C
IBM 7200RPM 76GB - 38C
WD 10000RPM 74GB - 33C

I would have expected the WD Raptor 10000RPM to run the hottest. Is this
program accurate?

Thanks for the link. I downloaded and ran Diskcheckup. The temperature
results were almost identical:

Hitachi - 36C
IBM - 37C
Raptor - 34C

Looks like the 10000RPM WD Raptor runs cooler than the others.

Yeah, it makes quite a difference what airflow there is over
the drive and whether its hard up against another or not etc.

2-3c isnt much of a difference..
I would say that a temp sensor could EASILY be out that much

I've got a 37G Raptor on order for my new office PC (I shun the
"company preferred" Dell's and build my own 8). Performance report
will follow. 8)

Hitachi 7200RPM 250GB - 36C Three platters.
IBM 7200RPM 76GB - 38C 75GB? Five platters.
WD 10000RPM 74GB - 33C
Just one platter, slightly smaller.
