Partitioned and formatted?? Jumpers correct??

You gave VERY little information. If you purchased an SATA harddrive, then
you probably have to load an SATA driver onto your system. And XP cannot
recognize an SATA harddrive unless you have SP2.
Maybe that helps.

Jumpers correct

Perhaps it's not partitioned (I bought it with OEM package). Without
floppy disk. I don't know how I can partitioned it now

NB : It's last time I try to upgrade my PC.

It's not a SATA harddrive and I have windows 98 SE (I bought it to put
windows XP and because my old harddrive have some bad clusters)

If you have a windows xp installer, you can use that to partition and
format your new drive.

I agree with Dave, you didn't give enough info. If you had said Win98 the
procedure is different, you'll have to understand partitioning and
formatting from a Win 98 boot floopy. I tend to assume now that most folk
are using XP.
Another thing you may run into with an older system is BIOS limitations on
HDD size.
For the first part:

For the second:
http://www.drivesolutions.com/info/aboutbios.shtml

I found an old old old floppy disk and my harddrive is OK in Win98
(Actually I scan it) after I make fdisk.

I want to install WinXP on my new hdd in master hdd. I put the good
jumper, cable. The win xp setup begin and bloque...

It's a quickly test before scan, but i suppose i have a difficult day...

Thanks for your help

Is the new HDD the ONLY one in the PC now and you're trying to install XP on
it?
If so set BIOS to boot from CD first, reboot with XP CD in the drive and
follow the onscreen prompts, it will take you right through.
One problem you could run into is hardware incompatibility, did you run the
compatibility test first?
