HDD partition freeware/application usage utility

Could anybody advise on where I could get freeware to help with
monitoring apps usage and also some HDD partitioning freeware.

Monitoring apps for what? There's so many alternatives.
Take a look at the excellent Pricelessware 2004.

For hdd partitioning freeware, search for:
- partition resizer
- fips
- ranish partition manager.
For less experienced users(like myself) Ranish Partition Manager is, in my
opinion, more difficult to use than the two others.
