HDD,is it time to read last rights?

I'm seeing this USB HDD listed in device manager and it's listed as
working but I can't located it using explorer or in my case powerdesk.
I can change to another harddrive with no issues.

I did have problems booting this hardrive before I switched it out so
maybe it's really totally dead? Any ideas for a final test..btw, the
propriitary western diag stuff says it's ok also using the extended
test but it fails on the quick test?
 
Depends. Did you have it properly baptised when you got it?

That is arguable given that it does pass the extended test.
Any ideas for a final test..

See what WD has to say about the stuff below.

That's certainly odd. You sure you are actually running
the extended test on the USB HDD and not another drive ?
 
I will run the western dig diag again when I get back monday..thx all
