Hi !
I have a 120 gb sata hdd 2.5 locked. Nobody knows the password. How
can i remove the password ??
With a large hammer.
Those passwords are put there to stop thieves from getting to one's data or
from having use of one's HDD if stolen. There is no way to get around it,
it's hard-coded into the HDD.
If my ThinkPad ever gets stolen I expect to see a similar post asking how to
get past a HDD pasword on a 320GB 7.2K SATA 3.0 HDD here.... The rest of the
machine won't be of much use either as it has a non-replaceable embedded
security chip that renders the motherboard useless if it's not given the
correct password also....
Some laptops just rock! Others are like any other home appliance,
tranferable without the owners consent. Most theives don't know the
difference beteen the two types.
<note: NOT calling *you* a thief...>
