Hi.

I have installed a new disk as SATA2. Before when I had 2 disks they both
showed up. My 2nd SATA is showing up in my software to change letter and
format this new HD.
Using explorer it does not show up. What can I do to get it working?

Thanks in advance
Steinar.

Right click the My Computer icon and select "Manage". Under Storage click
Disk management. Right click the drive and select Partition. After
partitioning you can format.

I just redid my hdds over the past 48 hours...both sata... 250gb and 300
gb... you should first make sure that your hdds are being loaded correctly in
the bios...as SATA hdds and that they are running through the correct IDE
controlling mechanism on your mobo. I have an Nvidia mobo and it offers the
options (via the bios) to change the boot sequence on the hdds and if you
want to use them at all...you can turn on and off Raid switches there, as
well as which IDE channel gets looked at first as a bootdick.
I used a WIN 98 boot floppy, ran debug & fdisk for partition management,
then changed the boot sequence to boot from the CD and put in my XPsp2. I'm
not sure (read as: I don't know) if there is a method to do this frm the
Windows CD... except for going through the steps I've suggested above... Hope
you've been backing up...
