Will XP recognize a 750G HD? Trying to format as one drive, i get a
message saying its too large and have to partition. Running SP3 also.

You have more than one partition on the disk? Use the Disk Management
tool and delete all the partitions then create one large one out of the
whole disk and then format it NTFS. To start the Disk Management tool
enter diskmgmt.msc in the Start menu Run box.

Windows XP SP1a+ supports drives *much* larger than that. It will even
natively format them if you use NTFS (FAT32 formatting in Windows XP is
limited.)

You merely have to wipe/re-partition it the way you want it.

If you're trying to format it as one drive, haven't you already done that
moving-off??
will give it another try this week-end...after moving everything of
it. keep ya posted
