Greetings,
I remember that when I first setup a Win2KPro machine I had used a very nice
and small utility (chkupgrade.exe or something like that), DLed from MS
site, that checked the hardware of that machine (which had 98 or NT on, I
don't remember exactly now) against the HCL.
In a week I am going to help a friend to setup Win2KPro on his PC. I have
explored MS site but found only the HCL list (browsable and DLble), no
longer that small utility. Was it discontinued? And, in the case I find a
copy of it among my old data, can I still "trust" it, or the fact that it's
(apparently?) disappeared from the MS suggests to let it "sleep" where it
is?
Thank you in advance.
Massimo

You can use the /checkupgradeonly switch to do the same thing, it will give
you an upgrade.txt report that will identify possible conflicts.
