Having two charts share a y (category axis)

Hello!

I have 6 curves that actually belong to the same plane and the same scale.

I would like to group the curves into two groups of 3, plotting them on
two adjacent charts that share the category axis.

Is this possible in Excel?

I'm not sure what you mean. You can always make two charts.

Data in a chart doesn't have to be adjacent, if that's what you're
asking. For example, if your X data (or category list) is in column A
and the Y data in B through G, select the region of A:D for the first
chart, and make the chart. Then select the region in A, and hold down
the Ctrl button while selecting the corresponding region of E:G, to
select a discontiguous range, then rerun the chart wizard to make the
second chart.

Or do you need to explain it to me again, more slowly?

Using a different interpretation of your problem (which, as Jon pointed
out, could do with clarification), plot the 3 that you want on the
right of the y category axis in the normal fashion. For the three that
you want on the left, plot the negative of the actual values.

Then, on the chart, double click any plotted series, and click the
Options tab. Set the various options as desired (Gap Width, Overlap,
etc.).
