Hi. I'm trying to remove the worm from my computer. I am
sure that I'm infected because my computer this morning
has become very unresponsive. ANyway, I can only boot my
computer in safe mode now, and only access the internet
through safe mode with networking ofcourse. Anyway, I
don't have the 2 computers at the bottom right that I
usually have, and i didnt remove them manually. So then
when I go to control panel and right click local area
connection 2 then go to properties, it says an unexpected
error has occured. I tried disabling it, but it's not
responding at all. I need help to activate it fast,
because I'm pretty sure my connection is going to mess up
soon.
Thanks for all or any help

Your computer is probably being used in conjunction with
thousands of other computers to run a Denial of Service
attack on Microsoft Windows update web site.

Right-Click your taskbar and choose Task Manager. Click
the processes tab and then click the Image Name column
header to alphabetically sort the processes by name.
Scroll down and see if msblast.exe is running. If it is,
highlight it and click End Process.

Then go to c:\windows\system32 and again, look for a file
called msblast.exe. This time, delete the file.

This is as much as I currently know about how to remove
the worm from an infected computer. Read Microsoft's post
for further instructions on how to remove it.

Another good bet is to visit your antivirus provider's web
site; they should have detailed instructions to remove the
virus.

Thanks I finally fixed it. When I did a search for
msblast.exe, I never found it. I just booted up the
computer quickly and fixed up the filter from there,
though I couldn't access the internet after the filter so
I had to disable it. So please, can anyone give me a URL
to any site with a free firewall? Or is it possible to
block the ports with the router? It's ports 4444 and 153?
Thanks again
