Having trouble loading HP PSC 750 program to XP

I keep getting an error message that it does not support 5.1, 5.2, 5.3. The HP program says it will download to XP. I had it on my old Win98 PC and just bought a new Dell PC. What do I do? Is there a patch I can load to accept the disc?
