Having trouble adding events to calendar due to unknown contacts

I am running Outlook 2002 at home and Outlook 2003 at work. I have an
Audiovox SMT 5600 phone running MS Smartphone 2003 SE, which I use to
synchronize my home and work Outlook calendars, contacts and to do
lists.

The synchronization between my work Outlook and my phone works like a
charm (no errors or problems). When I try to synchronize my phone with
my home Outlook, about 20 (out of a few hundred) meetings will not
synchronize.

When I try to resolve the issues, I get the error: "Microsoft Outlook
does not recognize 'Name'", where Name is the name of one of the
individuals in the meeting. Is there a way for me to have Outlook add
the meeting to my home calendar without adding all of the work contacts
into my home address book? Doing so would make my home address book
huge and difficult to use. Also, there are other meetings that have
multiple participants, but these seem to sync fine. Can someone help
me?

By the way, at work I'm on an Exchange server.

Look for a common thread between the ones that fail that is present or
missing in the ones that work.

The common thread is that I am the creator of the meeting. For meeting
where someone else has created the meeting and I am only a participant,
it will sync on my home computer no problem. However, when I have
created the meeting (on my work computer) and I have invited multiple
people to attend, that is when I run into the issue noted above when I
try to sync at home. If I create the meeting but no one else is
invited, then the meeting syncs just fine.

Any ideas?
