This may solve it for you:
Pre-partition the hard drive you're going to use for 7 into two
partitions in NTFS. Attach the hard drive as a slave on a current xp
system. Insert the Seven disk and when it auto starts the install quit
the install. Copy the entire dvd to the second partition on the newly
formatted slave drive. Right click on the setup.exe file and change the
properties to Vista compatibility mode. Reset the hd as master with the
jumper in the back and put back hd in the system. Reboot the computer
with a XP or 98 bootdisk and in dos change to drive d: Then type Setup
and it should take off into the Seven setup. Use c: as the drive to
install to.
