A Few bit's of info:
comp was manufactur made with XP pre installed.
restore disk's suck.
i now have 4 copy's of XP home on this system acting like a
"quad boot".

my system got encrypted with a few super nasty virus's
(blaster being one of the nicer one's). I managed to get
rid of them, but then decided to start from scratch so i
put in the restore disk that came with the computer.
Then i had 2 version's of XP on the computer. thought
nothing of it and carried on as a dual boot.
Then i left Mum for a week alone (big mistake). She tried
to sort it and i came back to 4 on it.

Now i cant get rid of them.....

I don't want to format the HD because i dont think the
restore disk will work, and i dont have enough cash to get
anouther copy of XP.
The main thing that i want to get sorted is the order in
which they appear on the black/white list when im booting
the computer, so that i can put the one that i use at the
top and get rid of the 24 sec time delay.

But to do that i need option's on the thing.

Anyone ever had a problem like this?? or just happen to
know where the option's are??

thankyou for reading my load of dribble and spelling mistake's.

=(

Hi,

Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab. Select the line that you want,
then click "set as default".

holy crap! Man, I'd reformat and take my chances on the MFR's disk.
It sounds like it will at least load XP onto the drive. Do all you
file backups, and get your registration numbers, etc. Locate all your
driver software and have them handy, blah, blah.

See my sig below before you do anything!

Excelent....sorted the annoying part for me Rick. Thankyou.

and GK, i think i might do that just as soon as i see my
uncle (he's got a very nice CD burner and a very nice
Operating System disc =P
