Ok. Firstly i have been having some problems with Java. Well there is one Scottish forum/chat . Someone gave me a link but when i try to load the page then it says Java applet failed. So i have been onto Javas website. I can get an update 4. Which is what i had. But i tried to play some of the Java games and it said that you dont have Java installed. I think its because its an update that i downloaded. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where and how i can get a Java platform original and then update late. Not too stressed as others things are working. But would like to get this sorted if possible. Cheers in advance.
Does all that make sense?

I have the old Microsoft VM files which I will attempt to attach here. Install them in order 1-2-3.

This is usually a symptom of a spyware java jacking, or some other java software attempting to load during java start.

- Uninstall all versions of Java
- Navigate to the Java folder, that should actually still be there
- Usually C:\Program Files\Java
- Delete that bastage!
- Get a new JRE from here

Done everything as yoy say. But i have been through all today. But still it doesnt work. have uninstalled verything now.

Have you tried several different java applications to determine if it's Java thats not working, or simply that you need an older version?
Have you run any Ad-Ware scanners? Its possible that ad-ware is re-infecting your fresh installs.

- Other JRE's
Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, v 1.4.2 (J2SE)

- Spyware scanners - All Freeware.

If all of that fails...

- Open task manager, kill all tasks that are javaw related, or iexplore.exe related
- Uninstall all versions of Java
- Delete c:\program files\java
- Reboot
- Install 1.4.2
- Test Java
- May want to install 1.5, but if 1.4.2 is workin' - Don't fix it , if it ain't broken ;)
