From what I'm reading, I get the impression that your XP box was once able to
connect to the Internet. But, due to your lack of any details, it's impossible
to get any insight about what the problem might be.
Did you have another version of Windows on the XP box, but then you upgraded and
lost your Internet connection? Did you install a new NIC card that blew your
Internet connection into a totally different realm from a dial-up 56kbps
connection to which you had grown accustomed? Please provide more information
about where you've come from and what you've done since the original setup that
you had got ruined.
