Having problems setting up a connection between 2 pcs

I'm trying to network 2 Win2k machines. I am using a Linksys router and have
set up the cables. Both machines are connected to the internet (cable). No
problems there.

I have made sure the Ethernet/network adapters are working. I can see them
in the device managers of both machines. I have also installed the drivers
for both of them.

Then, for each PC, I shared a drive. Then go to Network and Dialup
Connections, Make New Connection, Accetp Incoming Connection. To see a
share, go to My Network Places and double click Computers Near Me.

On one of the machines, I see the Computers Near Me icon but the other one.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I was able to get it further along.

Now I can see the list of computers near me icon for both PCs as long as I
boot up one at a time.

When I boot up one PC, I can see both computers in the network from the
computers near me icon. But, when I boot up the 2nd PC, when I double-click
on the Computers Near Me icon, I get the message:

"WORKGROUP is not available. The list of servers for this workgroup is not
currently available."

But, if I shutdown the 2nd PC and reboot the PC with the error message, I
CAN see the list of servers available (although only the local one is
accessible).

Any ideas what I can do to fix?

Thanks.
