Hi all,

Could someone please assist me in regards to a problem i am having trouble
running a power point slide presentation.
The file is a large file approx 390mb i am running a fully up to date system
XP intel pentium D 820 - 2GB memory - 512mb graphics - asus mother board. My
PC is SP3.
I running Microsoft Office 2003 but the file i am trying to run was done
with 2007 so i installed the MS compatability pack.
I know the file works and with sound as i viewed it on school computer with
lower specs than mine.
When i try run it takes from disc or HDD it takes approx 10 minutes to open
the file then i go to view slide and it has no sound.
Please help me this is a very important to me...... So i would like to run
this at xmas time to show all family and some family mebers have XP/VISTA
systems so i want it to work on both.

Regards

I'm a little confused. You viewed the file on the school computer and the
sound worked.

Did you create the file on the school computer? I'm asking because I'm
trying to figure out if it's an issue with the particular problem system or
if it's an issue of a broken link to the sound or what.

If you didn't create the file on the school computer, then how are you
running it? Is the file running from CD? Did you use Package for CD in PPT
2007?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I watched this presentation at a school farewell for my son and approx 60
people recieved a copy of this disc.Have seen any of them to see they have
same problem but i will...
So no i was not the creator one of the mothers were and she done it on her
pc
I have tried this file on 4 different PC's and the same result you double
click the icon on the disc or if copy file to hard drive and as stated im
using office 2003 with compatability pack as it prompted me to intall it...
Then the ppt sreen opens with grey background and at the bottom of the sreen
says it is loading and it sits on 5 green marks and then approx 10 mins later
it will open then presentaion with all the slides dow on the left side then i
go to slide show tab at the top and click on view show and it will do what it
should do but no sound!!!
Hope this helps you more - waiting on your reply thanks again.

Many thanks for your reply. I will try this what you have suggested and have
a look at the link that you provided and i will get back to you A.S.A.P.

Steven Rindsberg,
Just like to touch base with you in regards to this matter.
Fantastic problem solved!!
Done what you said do by doing a "save as" to a 2003 and i was told that
the music for the PPT was done as a MP3 format therefore becomes a broken
link.
But it may not have sound but at least it is not so painfull to open and
view it now.
Steven i cant thank you enough for all you help in this matter and wish you
all best and very big warm thank on behalf of my family, now on xmas day they
all will be be able to enjoy the PPT.

Regards
