Hi there.

I'm running windows xp pro on my machine and also using the fax program of xp.
When I try to send a test fax and I go threw the sending fax wizard and at
the end if you want to see the preview it gives a message saying that it
cannot open the file because it might be a web page. But I pay little
attention to that. So when click on the send button and I want to see if the
fax has gone threw there is nothing in the outbox or in the sent items box.
It is as if I have never send the fax. I can receive faxes but I cannot send.

Please help. And thankyou

My computer is equiped with the HDAUDIO Soft Date Fax Modem with SmartCP.
The driver for this modem installed in the computer is version 7.50.0.0 from
CXT dated 7/11/2006. It appears to the the most recent driver available. I
would like to send and receive faxes using Windows XP which is installed on
the computer. I have succeeded in sending but cannot receive. A review of
comments by writers online reveals that this is a common issue. Please
advise what I must do to make this work for me.

Thank you.

First, is this modem listed in XP Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog? If it isn't, all bets are off, XP
Fax is quite pickey about which modems it will work with. Second, have you
enabled the modem to receive? Third, do you get any error messages
receiving? Forth, any other specific details you can provide us?
