Hi all - Windows ME

I am thinking of changing my AV program, and want to test a couple
that have been highly recommended. I would like to keep the old one
until I am sure which one I want. However, I am not sure if it is
possible to have more than one AV program installed in a PC, even if I
disable the old one while testing the others. Is this possible, or
would it create conflicts or other types of problems?

Best regards,
Jan :)

Disable or uninstall the old one while trying the others, but certainly
it's not a good idea to run two at the same time.

You're probably right, but some years back, before I knew about all this
'conflicts' stuff, I was running CA antivirus at the same time as Norton.
They didn't conflict at all. But Norton was pants and I wasted my money
there, so when it came up for renewal I let it lapse. I continued with CA,
then it changed its identity and became a paid-for antivirus, so I looked
around and chose a completely different one, which I've been happy with ever
since [NOD32, since you ask ;-) ].

I have both eTrust Ez and Nod32 on my Win98 system, that I switch back and
forth on. Absolutely no problems, good luck.

The 2 that I will be looking at are the eTrust and AVG. I have not
heard about the NOD32, but, not sure it will work well with Windows
ME.

Programs I know pretty well, but, OS's are all new to me, and I have
undergone some pretty hairy problems with my recent upgrade to the MS
OFfice 2002 XP. I just opened and cleaned the inside of my PC for the
first time in my life. Scared the beejeebers out of me. I had no idea
what all that stuff in there was, and I was afraid to touch anything
after reading all the WARNING!! information.

So, I am not sure just what will best run, and not looking forward to
anymore unexpected fun..;-)

Thank you both for your time to reply and your information, I truly
appreciate it.

Best regards,
Jan :)

Thank you Acadia, I truly appreciate your time to reply and your
additional information. I now have McAfee VirusScan On-Line, and I
was just concerned about the possibilities of some conflicts between
programs.

Best regards,
Jan :)
