having difficulty with windows defender

everytime i restart my pc, i keep getting the a system error message that
windows defender can't start. anyone know how to fix this problem?

The Beta version of Defender expired on 12/31/06. Have you upgraded to the
new version? Otherwise post to one of the Defender newsgroups. And when
you do list the exact error message.

Try uninstalling it then get the newest version from
http://download.microsoft.com and install that.
