You have two choices:

1. Upgrade to Vista Home Premium, or better.

2. Acquire third-party fax and scan software.

Undoubtedly the second option will be much less expensive.

Ken, it's my understanding that Home Premium doesn't have Windows Fax &
Scan, either. I believe the OP would have to upgrade to Business or
Ultimate to get the built-in fax capability. As you say, just buying
third-party fax/scan software would make more sense.

Cheers,

I am using Vista Home Premium (no fax support). I purchased Snappy Fax. You
can download it from www.snappysoftware.com and try it out free for 30 days.
There are no limitations in the free trial product. If you like it, you can
buy it for $29.99.

I am not a heavy fax user, but I have used it several times and it works
great.

Thanks, Malke. You're right, of course. I remembered wrong.

Sorry, and sorry to jay for the misinformation.

Yes.

Or alternatively, use the scan software that comes with your scanner
and buy a stand-alone fax machine, which can be less expensive than
fax software. My fax machine costs $20 US on sale.
