To begin with I have the most recent build and
definitions of the anti-spyware. However, everytime I
start antipsyware it wants to go through the setup
wizard. I have gone through the setup wizard a multitude
of times and saved all of my options but I still have the
same problem. Anytime I close the program and then
reopen it (even without restarting) it sends me to the
setup wizard and has lost all of my settings. I run
antispyware on a dell inspiron 700 laptop with windows XP
pro with an intel pentium M processor. I also have
antispyware on my desktop PC but have no problems on that
computer. Any help would be greatly appreciate b/c it is
rather annpying to have to go through the setup process
anytime I use the program. Additionally, if you know of
anyway to submit this prob to MS just in case they are
unaware . . . I looked briefly but did not see any
instructions for submitting bugs.

Hello Dave,

try this:

Goto: Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove programs/MSAS
then click on support info!!!
Then click on repair!

I'd like to join the chorus on this one. I am running W2K
and have that Setup come up every time. I tried a
Repair/Change through Control Panel, didn't help.
Uninstalled, got a new download, did the install and I
still have the Setup come up every time.

Tom,
I appreciate the advice. However, I tried the repair and
I still have the smae problem. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Dave

Hello all
I get to reply to myself this time. On another website I
found a fix that really does work. Here is what they
recommended:
1. uninstall microsoft antispyware (MSAS)
2. delete the MSAS folder and all of it's subfolders
(usually C:/program files/microsoft antispyware)
3 reinstall the newest verison of MSAS.

I guess the problem is in the files that remain when you
try to repair or reinstall over a previous version screw
things up. One warning, you will lose all recorded
settings, preferences, and quarantined items. . . not
that this is really an issue anyway but good to know

Here is the link to the site where I found the info
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2095757.php

Hopefully this helps everyone else.

Regards,
Dave
