Have to re-enter email password

Recently bought a new PC with Windows XP Home Edition to
replace my older PC with Windows 98SE and can't figure
out why both Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express 6 will not
keep my email (POP3 and SMTP) mail server passwords. I
have to keep re-entering them manually everytime I start
the email program. Ran XP updates and Outlook updates and
search knowledge base and can't find a fix. Tried
disabling Norton Ineternet Security and Antivirus.. no
difference.

Can anyone help me
