have to keep clicking on screen to continue working

My screen keeps going to "sleep", I have to continually click back on the screen to continue working. Sometimes it goes to black. I have run my anti virus over & over, and I have checked the settings for my screen saver. Everything seems to be ok. HELP, this is driving me nuts!!!
 
Go into power management in the control panel and adjust the settings. You
can turn off sleep or hibernation mode altogether if you wish. There are
settings there for your monitor and harddrive.
