have to hold shift to open page to a new window???

For some reason i have to hold shift down to open a new
window from a link. if i dont it shuts down the original
window back to desktop. How can i take the shift button
setting off so i can rightclick a link from a webpage and
open it to a new window. Email me at (e-mail address removed)
