I have a TI graphing calculator that uses TIconnect
software, I had an older version and everytime I try to
install the new one it says the older version is stil
there, since the older version was removed, the
uninstaller built into the new version can't find unwise
and gives an error message to that affect, then shuts
down and won't install the newer version. I looked in
the registry and all the stuff from the older version is
still there...any suggestions on how to fool the
installation program for the newer version into thinking
the older version is not there?

Personally, I'd remove all registry keys and data associated with the
application then check that files were totally erased from the original
installation path before attempting to install the new version. But then I
class myself as pretty confident at fiddling with windows.

Your message suggests that the new version may attempt to uninstall the old
automatically. You could try reinstalling the old then run the new and see
what happens.
If you dont feel confident then contact the software publisher/writer and
ask for help.
