Sonic,

You likely have either a dual core CPU or a Hyperthreaded CPU. Either one
will show up as two logical processors in Windows. So, there is no processor
to uninstall from the device manager.

Is there a particular application or program that you are using when your
system crashes? Sometimes games do not go well with dual core or
hyperthreading. I can't recall for sure, but there is a way do disable
hyperthreading or the second core in a dual core CPU from the task manager.
Maybe, poke around there and see what you can find.

Usually Hyperthreading is in the BIOS (at least with my Giga-byte board it
is), you can disable Hyperthreading in there and force the OS to believe
only one CPU is present, rather than two

E.

The easiest way is to edit boot.ini, copy your boot info line,
append /numproc=1 to the end, then rename WINDOWS= to
something like "WinXP Single CPU". That will give you the
option of booting with HT on or off.
