Hi,
I downloaded the XP Pro evaluation edition CD onto my PC and when it was
installed and asked me to log in it says the password is wrong.
I now can't access my PC at all!
I have tried to log on as administrator as advised in another thread,
however it again says the password is wrong. Is there any way I can just
uninstall this CD as it is driving me nuts????
Hope someone can help....

Thanks

What do you mean by "downloaded"? Where did the evaluation copy come from?
What does the documentation included with the evaluation say about
installing/upgrading/uninstalling?

What operating system did you start with? What choices did you make during
setup? Did you elect to save the previous operating system? If yes, see
this article:

How to start the Windows XP uninstallation process from a command prompt

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for your help

I got the CD for XP Pro by ordering online from Microsoft. My original
system was ME and I did elect to save.
I have followed your instructions but as I cannot log on as either myself or
administrator I cannot complete the uninstall in this way.

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks

If you are unable to log on, you cannot uninstall. Check Jupiter's response
for a link to a page he has written for dealing with password problems. If
no joy, your options of how to return to ME are very limited: restoring the
drive from a system image of the ME system or by using the original WinME
media (start over from scratch).
