I was wondering how to fix this problem. I go into the Contacts Folder and
their is no enteries, but when I hit the Address Book it is full of names.
What's up with this and how do I fix it?

You'll have to provide at least some information.
What you describe is not possible in Outlook.
What program are you using? Explain exactly what address book you mean and
how you created and stored your Contacts.

It must be possible in Outlook because this is not the first time I have run
across this problem. You see I am the IT Assistant where I work and I am the
one who works on Outlook problems. On several occasions I have been asked to
come to someones computer because there is nothing showing up in the Contacts
Folder, but when they go into their address book on Outlook, i.e. through
address book or even through the to: when creating a new message, they can
see all their contacts. This usually happens following a Windows Update that
is done by someone that comes into our office every Wednesday.

As I said, you'll need to provide a more accurate description of your
problem including Outlook version, data store, Outlook Address Book
configuration and steps to repro the problem.
As the IT Assistant I assume you realize that there is no address book in
Outlook. The Outlook address book is only a view of the Contacts Folder.
That's why an empty Contacts Folder and a populated address book is
inexplicable in Outlook. There is by definition a populated Contacts Folder
somewhere in the profile that the Outlook Address Book is displaying.

I have given all the info I know. I am using Outlook 2002, and yes it is
happening I am not stupid I know what I am seeing and have seen several times
before. If I knew why I could fix it without your help, but I see you don't
know Outlook yourself.

Believe what you wish about my knowledge of Outlook and its address book.
But you will need to provide the information I requested for anyone to help
you.
The next time this happens, at the very least you should examine the profile
using Folder List to view every Contacts Folder in the profile and what each
contains. You also should examine the configuration settings for the Outlook
Address Book to see which of these folders it is displaying. You also need
to provide a more accurate description of the steps that produce this
behavior. So far, no one else I know has ever seen this and we will be
anxious to learn from your experience.
