I want the very last slide of my show to fade to black in time with the
music, but I can't seem to do anything more than have it simply end abruptly
after a set number of seconds. Any suggestions?

Add a black shape above (your last slide) and use an animation to make it
appearing gradually

I'm sorry, I don't follow completely.

Does you mean to insert a slide BEFORE the last slide, or to add a shape --
like a simple rectangle shape -- to the top of the slide itself. How do I
animate the shape I add? And if the shape is a part of the slide itself, how
do I animate the shape independently of the slide itself?

My goal is to have one very dramatic final picture, but to have only that
one slide very gradually fade out to end the presentation.

No, i meant to insert a shape (a rectangle) above the
textes/shapes/pictures/etc. you have on the last slide
You have to animate the shape (but not the slide)

In doing this, I discovered the custom animation options available. Duh.
Works great now, just on the picture itself without any additions. Thanks.

I've used simple slide transition. the last slide used is absolutely
black. Send me an email to (e-mail address removed)...and i'll send you the
