Have a few questions about AIW 9600 setup

I have the All-In-Wonder 9600 installed, and I want to upgrade
from Multimedia Center 8.6 to 8.8. I tried this once, but the TV
viewing option wasn't available. Do I need an updated version of the
catalyst drivers? My current display driver is version
#6.14.10.6378. (08/12/2003).
 
Did you load all the driver software off the install disk.
I had to do a second driver install to get all the software of the CD.
 
I installed all the software off the install disk - but I haven't
installed the driver and multimedia center updates from ATI's site
yet. I wasn't sure about whether I should update to Catalyst 3.10,
because when I tried inatalling Snapstream Beyond TV it automatically
updated the driver, and caused my system to become extremely unstable.
 
I am using Cat 3.8/MMC 8.8 with my AIW 9800 Pro.
