Has anybody noticed a compatibility problem with the Asus P4P800 and
Hauppauge's WinTV tv tuner PCI card? This card and software worked 100%
flawlessly with: Intel D845WN and 1.8Gb P4, Asus P2B-F and 500Mhz P3 it's
worked with Windows 98Se, Me, 2000 Pro, XP Home and XP Pro. The image
spontaneously freezes yet the sound plays normally (volume and channel +/-
functions work). Once the image on the WinTV app is locked up the
application cannot be closed (unless you repeatedly killed the processes in
the task manager) and the only way to relaunch WinTV is to reboot the PC.
I've used the same (newest) drivers and both versions of the WinTV 2000 app,
<same results> -note I rebooted between installations too.

my info:

XP Home
512Mb RAM
3 Ghz 800FSB Pentium 4
Asus P4P800 (BIOS v.1010)
WinTV PCI (878 chipset)
Creative Live 5.1 (native XP drivers)
Mad Dog nVidia 4400 64Mb AGP (XP Driver v.45.23 from nVidia)
Maxtor 7200RPM 120Gb HD (NTFS)
Western Digital 72000RPM 120Gb HD (NTFS)
Sony 40X CDR
NEC 16X DVD ROM

I wouldn't at all be surprised if it was an HT problem. If you disable HT in
BIOS, do the problems disappear? Not a solution, but at least a reason.
